DISCOVERY / DEFENDER TD5 SPECIAL TUNING
Thank you for your enquiry. We are pleased to send details of our special
tuning systems for your Discovery or Defender TD5.
Our Phase 2 conversion is based on a larger higher performance air to air
intercooler system, which replaces the original intercooler. The intercooler
further reduces the compressed air temperature, providing an increased
airflow to the engine at the same time as reducing the thermal load on the
engine.
This allows us to incorporate an ECU reprogramming module, which remaps the
fuelling requirements to match fuelling to the increased air mass made
available, with the larger capacity intercooler.
The combination of an uprated higher performance intercooler and the power
boost module, provides a substantial improvement in power and torque over
the whole r.p.m. range, with optimum economy and reduced exhaust smoke
emission.
There is a reduction in air temperature across the intercooler core of upto
75°c from inlet to outlet port, at full engine load.
The ECU reprogramming module allows us to match air fuel ratio more closely
to the requirements of the larger intercooler also to each engine, driver
combination.
We prefer, where possible, to fit conversions in our workshop, but kits are
available for DIY fitting.
