DISCOVERY AND DEFENDER200 & 300 TDI SPECIAL TUNING

our special tuning systems for the Land Rover 200 & 300 TDI engine.
Allard have developed a range of special engine tuning
systems for the Discovery, Defender and Range Rover 200 & 300 TDI,
with alternative systems for air-con vehicles which enhance power, torque
and thermal efficiency.
The PHASE 2 and 3 conversions provide benefits in terms of optimum economy
and performance over the normal working r.p.m. range, without impairing
long term engine life. The air to air intercooler performance and efficiency
uprating system incorporates a new intercooler of more than three times
the cooling capacity of the original unit which it replaces.
The new intercooler has a much higher air flow rate and heat dissipating
capacity with a very effective and efficient core structure. The temperature
of the air delivery to the engine is considerably below the original temperature,
so both volumetric and thermal efficiency are substantially improved. In
this way any additional thermal stress on the engine is eliminated. It
also provides optimum fuel economy. The intercooler is designed to allow
the use of most of the standard pipe work and mounting points which makes
installaltion of the intercooler quite straightforward. Power and torque
is increased by upto 22% on the PHASE 2 conversion with improroved throttle
response and pulling power from only 1400 r.p.m. A dash mounted switch
allows the driver to switch from maximum performance to ecoconomy mode
at any time, which can improrove economy by upto 15%.
All PHASE 2 and 3 systems include Allard Formula FX1 engine treatment,
this very special lubricant, 200 ml of which is added to the engine oil,
is unique in the way it reacts with metal surfaces inside the engine and
creates a n ultra smooth and hard wearing surface which reduces wear and
friction, also extends component life.
The PHASE 3 conversion includes in addition an uprated Garrett turbocharger
with adjustable boost control. This produces an extra 10-15% power and
torque, with little change in overall fuel consumption.
For those wanting even more power, a PHASE 4 conversion is available producing
upto 150 b.h.p
We believe these conversions offer the most cost effective tuning systems
available anywhere. Kits with fitting and tuning instructions for d-i-y
